Company, Apprentice & Trainee Expectations

Membership in the PCBT Company, Apprentice, and Trainee Program is a privilege that reflects dedication, leadership, and a commitment to artistic excellence. Members are expected to uphold the following standards throughout the season as representatives of Providence Creek Ballet Theater.

Respect: Treat fellow dancers, faculty, volunteers, audience members, and others with kindness, courtesy, and respect.

Positive Role Model: Represent PCBT with professionalism, integrity, and positivity both inside and outside the studio.

Team Player: Contribute to a supportive, inclusive, and encouraging environment that helps every dancer succeed.

Dancer Wellness: Recognize that the body is a dancer's instrument and maintain it through proper nutrition, hydration, rest, conditioning, and injury prevention.

Policy Compliance: Follow all PCBT policies and procedures outlined on the official website.

Preparation: Arrive prepared for every class, rehearsal, and performance with the required attire, shoes, hair, and any necessary materials.

Dress Code: Adhere to the PCBT dress code at all times.

Punctuality: Arrive early enough to be fully prepared and ready to begin class or rehearsal at the scheduled start time.

Absence Notification: Submit planned absences or early dismissals, whenever possible, at least two weeks in advance using the designated absence request form.

Make-Up Classes: Missed classes may be made up in lower-level classes when appropriate.

Event Attendance: Attend all required performances, rehearsals, outreach events, festivals, and special events—including The Nutcracker, PYDF, the RDA/NE Festival, the Arts Gala, and the Summer Concert—unless otherwise approved by the Artistic Director.

Audition Participation: Audition for repertory and performance opportunities as required. Dancers who are not cast in a performance may be assigned understudy responsibilities and are expected to attend all rehearsals.

Understudy Responsibilities: Learn and maintain assigned understudy roles and be prepared to perform if needed.

Additional Rehearsals: Attend additional rehearsals scheduled throughout the season as needed. These rehearsals are considered mandatory unless otherwise excused by the Artistic Director. Dates will be communicated via email and posted on the PCBT calendar.

Online Conduct: Represent PCBT professionally on social media and other online platforms. Refrain from posting content that is disrespectful, defamatory, or harmful to PCBT, its dancers, families, staff, or volunteers.

Positive Attitude: Approach training with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and respect for corrections and feedback.

Failure to Meet Expectations: Company, Apprentice, and Trainee membership is a privilege. Failure to uphold these expectations or repeated violations of PCBT policies may result in disciplinary action, including probation, suspension from performances or activities, or dismissal from the program at the discretion of the Artistic Director.
